CLARE MCNAMARA MEZZO
experimentation
Welcome to the Quarantine Edition of my website!
With concerts canceled and live music sidelined, musicians may find themselves in a strange new world of digital music production. Live music is our passion; our training; our livelihood. And yet, we don't have to call "curtains" on musicmaking.
So, join me as I experiment with what it means to record, edit, and produce music at home. What is possible? How can I "play" with the music I long to perform? How do we connect differently with digitally available music vs. live performance? How do I learn the basics of recording so I can take my dream off of its quarantine "shelf," dust it off, and get back to work?
Experiments will be eclectic: music in the public domain, music that maybe has rarely seen the light of day, or music that is simply easier to create with my at-home resources. Armed with a small set of different microphones, a preamp setup, a digital keyboard, a real piano (and a pianist husband!), and a (mostly-)alto voice, let's see what's possible.
Thanks for visiting & happy listening!

...but one of my favorites. Produced by Katina Mitchell, soprano, on harp.
